Five years ago, Virginia Tech showed the nation how their strong community would carry them through the tragedy of April 16—they would not allow hate to define them. Live on Hokies!

  1. This is a very touching and appropriate tribute. I have a Crisis Counseling course and we examined this tragedy in some detail. It's heartbreaking to imagine the terror these students lived through.

    1. Well said! I only hope that the events 5 years ago helps keep other campuses safe.

  2. Short, simple, tactful, and poetic. This is how more tributes should be written.

    Kudos, BHD, kudos.

  3. As one of my Co-workers was an RA on the floor the shooting started in, and being only 20 minutes from their campus, our campus as does the rest the world still remember that day as if it were yesterday, and not to forget the shooting they had again this past december. God Bless their memories.
